The Great Global Warming Swindle

This film by the documentary-maker Martin Durkin presents the arguments of scientists and commentators who don't believe that CO2 produced by human activity is the main cause of climate change.

It's a controversial film that was roundly attacked by some scientists and enthusiastically received by others, and the arguments it contains are an important part of the wider debate on the causes of climate change.

Please note that I do not agree with the main premises of this documentary. I do believe, however, that it is important to see an argument from all sides...the viewer will have to make their own mind up.

Unfortunately for this documentary, it relies on testimony from industry flaks and people whose credentials and/or scholarship have been questioned in the past. This is what usually happens with skeptics of this type--they are eventually revealed to be working for the companies that are causing the problem. For information on individuals, I suggest people visit

leading up the release of this film many of the scientists interviewed for this accused Martin Durkin for splicing their interviews in a way that adds to the viewpoint that he was trying to portray and not what was being said at all. To >90% of the Scientists that research global warming there is no debate on neither the cause nor whether or not its actually happening. Thankfully the BBC did it's job and allowed the people interviewed for this movie to speak out nationally as opposed to being suppresed which is par for course here in the U.S.

I go to the old saying that is "whether it is heads or's still a quarter." Its good to get two views on the same subject and to look for interesting and valid arguments between all the garbage both sides throw at us, the viewer. There is so much propaganda and miss information coming from both sides that it is hard to really know what is up from down. The real issue i think isn't the co2, because that is right, it doesn't play as an important factor as others on the world climate. The issues are of clean air, clean water, reduced air pollution. No cfc's, or breaking the ozone layer O3. Those are the real risks and real factors that dictate our lives now. Smog, Solar radiation, clean water are the major issues they failed to recognize. Self sustaining doesn't mean under developing. Combining the wind, solar, water, and nuclear, coal, gas under the right supervision and right measures can be obtained. There are ways now that can have life changing effects. I mean during the making of Ford, the model T, hydrogen cards were out there, These were the 19oo's but due to its high cost and people becoming afraid because of hydrogen blimps blowing up or crashing caused the downfall and made gas cars the future.Cheap, easy, fast. what would have happened if it was the other way???? hydrogen cars are as safe as gas. But the two things from the tailpipe? O2 and H2o!!!!! People want to tell others how to life, and they themselves live like they want. Its appalling that we all bleed red and have love and let people die for no reason and believe what others tell us and not even check the source or who's saying it....Invest in a mind...think....learn...act!!!

I feel completely brainwashed... from the both sides. If something could be used to earn extra public votes it would definitely be used! Surely, all the opinions we can hear from the mass media are opinions of industrial or political sponsors.
I used to believe in global warming, but now I see only a battle between industry and politics.
In any case, it doesn't mean that shouldn't care about our planet.
