Suggest a Documentary - March
You would have noticed a lot more videos from Guba, Megavideo and yes...the dreaded Veoh. I do apologise to those that cannot access Veoh from their countries, but have little sympathy for those in Western countries that have complained about Veoh on principle.
We will continue posting videos from Veoh because there is material hosted there that is UNAVAILABLE anywhere else on the web. We either link to those Veoh films, or we do not have that material on out site at all. Well, for the 90% of viewers that have no problem with Veoh...we will contine to post videos from Veoh.
It is not up to us to try to convince viewers that Veoh is safe to use...you will have to make your own mind up. The fact is, however, that we have NEVER heard of any individual's computer security being compromised by Veoh. If anyone has credible published material on why Veoh is not safe, please post links in the comment section of this post and we will re-assess.
There were fewer documentary suggestions last month. I would like to remind our regular visitors that just because your request we not met this month, don't lose heart. We keep a running list of requested documentaries and will post them as soon as they become available.
Finally, many of our regular visitors have come over to this site via the Online Documentaries 4 U - You Tube Channel. You may have noticed that this channel was suspended this week. I am afraid that this is the end of us on You Tube and you will not see us there again in the future. If you are able, please let any of your friends that had suscribed to our channel know what has happened.
Now...it's time to step up and make your documentary suggestions for the month.

Suggest a Documentary - Feburary
There will be a large focus this month on catching up on viewer requests from December and January, so watch these pages.
Finally, there has been quite a furore regarding links from Megavideo and Veoh. I take this opportunity to remind my viewers that we at OD4U do not upload any videos ourselves, but rather take advantage of material that has been uploaded by other parties.
This means that we have to take the good with the bad. I would, of course, prefer to use nothing but full-length Google Video links...but this would severely limit the material available.
The problem with Megavideo is that you can only watch 74 consecutive minutes in a 24 hour period before you are asked to purchase an account. There were many suggestions from readers on how to over come this problem and these comments can usually be found on videos that use Megavideo links.
To watch full-length videos on Veoh you must download and install the Veoh player. I am not a fan of having to install stuff just to watch online documentaries, but bit the bullet and just did it in the case of Veoh. I have had Veoh player installed on my machine for a couple of years now and have never had any problems with it.
Ultimately, it is up to the viewer how they will deal with the above mentioned issues. I can assure you, however, that I will only post videos from Megavideo and Veoh if there are no alternative links available.
Happy 2009 and I hope that it is a prosperous and safe one for all of you.

Suggest a Documentary - December
Well as promised, the 1st post of the new month (...the 2nd actually, but let's not split hairs) suggest a documentary. This is where you can put all of your documentary requests for the month of December - title and subject areas included.
If I am not able to post the documentary straight away, it is always because it is not currently available online. If the particular title you have suggested is not available due to extreme policing by the copyright Nazis...I will post a reply telling you this.
We had some great requested title and subjects last month, so let's keep the momentum going this month.
Post your requests in the comments of this post only...I get so many comments on other posts that your request may get lost if it is not in the current month's suggest a documentary post.
Cheers,
Scott

A Bunch of Requested Documentaries!
Back in August I did a post where I called for my regular visitors to suggest a documentary. I was able to post some the requested material straight away, but other requests have since come in that I have not had time to search for. Well, that changes today!
I would like this site to be more interactive and to build more of a community here...after all, many of us share similar interests and views.
To this end, I am calling for more activity on this site from you the visitors in two areas...
- Request more documentaries that YOU want to see.
- Post more comments on the ones that interest you.
OK, I am posting a whole bunch of requested documentaries here...enjoy!!!

I'd like to see "Maxed Out" added here. It's an excellent documentary on the credit crisis that is especially relevant right now.
My Response
This documentary is not available online for some reason. I will try to find it and will post it when found.

First of all, thanks for such a wonderful site. Nice to know there are other documentary geeks out there!
Several years ago, I saw part of a documentary on TV and, after a lot of searching, I found out it was entitled "The Ritchie Boys". I only saw the tail end, but I was engrossed. Do you think you can find it?? Thanks a lot.
My Response
Sorry, but I have been unable to find any trace of this one. If you can give me more information like what it was about I may be able to do better.

Thanks for posting all those awesome documentaries, I'm trying to find time to watch them all.
I would like to see more documentaries about people who have make history, like Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, etc. And if available, documentaries about the future of corporations, and how they might have to evolve to stop harming the environment. Sustainable Corporations.
My Response
I will have a look at the material you requested about corporations on another day, but for now...enjoy these documentaries about Martin Luther King and Malcolm X.

To Continue your discussion on religion, i think you must post a doc called "Jesus Camp" it's about a evenglical church summer camp. This one is good cause the maker decided to let the action of these people speak for themselves rather then impose a view on the audience. I found it on Youtube in parts.
By the way great site. keep this up as long as you can and call for donation if needed.
My Response
One of the things I try to do on this site is to highlight some of the madness that organised religion inflicts on mankind...yes, I am an atheist. This documentary is a good example of what I am talking about...
That's it for now. If you have any documentaries to suggest for this month...put the requests in the comments of this post. Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Remember to not spend the whole day in front of your PC...go out and play too!!!
